The scope of work included replacing the existing shallow mansard with a new steel framed mansard creating a large open plan fifth floor space with a central roof light. The existing stone cantilevered staircase in the property was refigured at basement level with the stone half landing resupported to accommodate additional space under. A new lift shaft was designed to be independent from the floor structure to minimise vibration issues.

Due to the state of the building structural repairs were required including the re-building of the rear parapet, levelling of floors, improvement of timber joist bearings, provision of noggins and stone landing repair.
