The new facilities comprising a ground floor with a lift and stair case have enabled the church to evolve as a community centre, nursery school and branch library during the week.

Timber was chosen as the material most compatible with the historic interior and to provide stability for the new lift.

An unusual aspect of St. Peters is that it has a GRP spire upon which we have advised and which is a local landmark, dating from 1970 and replacing a previous stone spire.
